About Me
Born outside of Washington D.C.; I have lived in locations from
Okinawa Japan to my current residence in Charlotte North Carolina. I
guess this has had some influence on my love of music. The changing
climates, moods, and rhythms of diverse locales have the same appeal
to me that is found in jazz.
I grew up listening to music from James Brown, Parliament/Funkadelic,
Van Halen, Weather Report, almost everything in between and later
discovered Bird, Miles, Coltane, Monk, Andrew Hill and other greats.
While I respect and enjoy the music of the past I thrive on the
current and future sounds of artists here and across the globe who
continue to carry the torch yet also seek to express their own voices
in the music.
The people that say that jazz is dead are simply not listening in
the right places or to the diversity of music that's out here. It's
all about change and discovery. In my mind there's so much good music
and so little time.
