I love jazz because it's always new, spontaneous and exciting. I was first exposed to jazz in my teens, when I heard Miles Davis' Kind of Blue and Dave Brubeck's Time Out. The best show I ever attended was Herbie Hancock's show at the Kennedy Center in March 2012... there are many others, but this one really stands out! The first jazz record I bought was Herbie Hancock's Head Hunters. My advice to new listeners is to not assume you need advanced listening skills to appreciate jazz.
