My Jazz Story

I love jazz because...it fits me and my voice best! I was first exposed to jazz...by my Dad, who travelled the world while in the Air Force, becoming exposed to every conceivable artist in Gospel, Jazz, Blues, Classical, Country and beyond. I met [musician name]...Edmundo Ros, Tamir Hendelman, Sheila Jordan, Todd Gordon, Geoff Britton, Grazy Coral, Ant Law, Gabriel Lachin, Jonny Copland, Kevin Glasgow, Colin Steele, Nick Gould, JazzMain, Barbara Morrison The best show I ever attended was...Jimmy Smith, The Manhattan Transfer The first jazz record I bought was...Gino Vanelli, MIles Davis, The Manhattan Transfer, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Pat Metheny...... My advice to new listeners...Listen to recorded music, read about the artist, learn about the genre. When you go to hear jazz, after learning about how it works, then it's so much more enjoyable. Or whatever else you have in mind. Jazz is an adventure...ever evolving......enjoy it!!
