Margo S. is an innovative artist who blends traditional jazz with contemporary sounds, creating a musical journey that ranges from jazz to pop, and even experimental music. Her debut EP, Prism, which she released independently, is a deeply personal project that reflects her life's experiences. The album showcases Margo's impressive vocal abilities and features collaborations with some of the finest musicians in the jazz scene, including David Kikoski, Spike Wilner, and Stacy Dillard. Through her music, Margo explores the freedoms and intellectual challenges of jazz, while delivering a rich listening experience filled with depth and emotion. Songs like “Fight For Life,” written after her son's heart surgeries, and “New York City Streets,” composed during the pandemic, resonate with hope, love, and resilience. Inspired by a life-changing encounter with the legendary Polish vocalist Stan Borys, Margo has embraced jazz as the perfect outlet for expressing her personal stories. Her song “Coraz to z Ciebie jako z drzazgi smolnej,” a jazz remake of a Borys classic, is a testament to her ability to transform music into something fresh and meaningful. The album's title track, "Ashes and Diamonds," symbolizes the strength that emerges from life’s struggles, much like a diamond formed under pressure. Margo’s music is a fusion of jazz, pop, poetry, and modern sounds, influenced by her idols like Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Miles Davis. Her upcoming performances at the Greenpoint Jazz Festival and venues like Brush Culture demonstrate her growing presence on the jazz scene, as she continues to captivate audiences with her powerful, heartfelt voice.
