Greenwich Village Roots Show as Singer-Songwriter Hosts Songs-Voices-Poems for KRFY 88.5

About Me

Mamaloose Music became a legacy platform for Jackie Henrion to expand from folk roots to host a free-form weekly radio show. As an ASCAP member songwriter with several dozen original songs and a prodigious playlist, she moved in 2014 from performing to creating themes for her weekly live show on KRFY 88.5 broadcast every Sunday at 7 pm (krfy.org.) Working with Seattle jazz musician Michael Powers for her first album (re-released in 2020 and available on all platforms at https://jackiehenrion.hearnow.com/the-tickle-monster), and Manhattan Producer’s Alliance (ManhatPro) for her second, the third album, yet unpublished, contains songs inspired by writing sessions with LA blues studio artist, Bruce Bishop. The years 2006 -2010 in NYC led to a friendship with Jazz performer and writer/teacher, Kirpal Gordon. That friendship led to her MFA studies in creative writing at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics, founded by beat poet Alan Ginsberg, at Naropa University Boulder (2018). Now an author of a conceptual historical novel “Rerooted” by Turtlemoon Publishing in July 2019, Jackie Henrion continues the genre-bending radio show which highlights commonalities between song and poetic lyrics.
