About Me
My Jazz Story
I love jazz but I'll never know why. It is just inside me and has been since an early age.
I was first exposed to jazz when I got an old "flipping numbers" clock radio for a birthday present and loved that AM radio reached hundreds of miles after dark. I played with that
dial just to see "where" I'd be listening in to. I found a jazz station on in the dark from a place named New Kensington PA and fell in love the first time I heard the music.
I met many musicians, but why name them? They would likely never remember me, but I make it a point to meet and chat briefly, if given the chance!
The best show I ever attended was just about every one I've gotten tickets for. At a certain level of talent and skill, at a certain level of heart, emotion and energy, all these
musicians are magical to me.
The first jazz record I bought was... Bob James Three on CTI
My advice to new listeners: You may not groove or swing with jazz instantly, by buy all means, play it in the background and let it grow on you. It is so good for your mind and your
heart and your soul.
Or whatever else you have in mind.
My House Concert Story
No, sadly! One day, perhaps.
