Lindsay Artkop is based out of New Haven, Connecticut, currently focusing on Drum Set. Her main areas of concentration include Jazz, Afro-Cuban, Rock, and Contemporary styles of music. Lindsay has notably studied with Jesse Hameen II, Jeff Fuller, Sal Raniello, and Jon Peckman. Curriculum includes Large and Small Ensembles, Music Theory and Musicianship, Aural Skills, and Ear Training. Trod Nossel Recording Studio, Wallingford, CT: Music Recording Techniques “Quest” Study Instructed by Professor Howard J. Satinsky. Earned Certification and Accreditation in Music Recording Techniques I and II. Also served as Studio Assistant. Credits transferred into high school quarter credit via the “Quest” Program. 2010. The Hartt School , Community Division, Blomfield, CT: Instructed by Mr. Sal Ranniello. Drum Set/Percussion Studies. September 2009 - January 2010. Performances, Awards, Accomplishments Recruited as “Personal Shadow” for Director of Entertainment/ Durham Fair, Durham CT (www.durhamfair.com) Responsibilities include reviewing contracts of performers to insure compliance, working with stage crew on sound and lighting, and auditioning talent show contestants. Headliners include Kenny Rogers and Kellie Pickler. September 2012. “Lindsay Artkop and Friends” Jazz Ensemble Director: Produce various Jazz Ensembles to play in fundraisers, public gatherings, private parties and local restaurants. Also manage equipment, create repertoire lists and specify attire requirements for all band members. May 2012 - Present. Pit Band Drummer: Hired by Middlesex Academy of Performing Arts, Middlefield, CT as Pit Band Drummer for Annual Summer Musical. “The Wiz – A Psychedelic Journey Through OZ”. Book by William F. Brown, Music and Lyrics by Charlie Smalls. July 2012. Drummer/Jazz Ensemble: Hired to play in Jazz Ensemble for Annual Meeting of Meriden Connecticut Womens' Club. Monticello's Restaurant, Meriden, CT. April 2012. Bass Guitar Player: Hired by Trod Nossel Studio, Wallingford, CT as Bass Player for studio’s contracted talent/Solo Artist. Performed 90 minute live show at Mohegan Sun Wolf Den Arena Uncasville, CT, Also played in other large venues with Band such as the Annual Norwalk CT Fireworks Display, and the Shelton, CT Relay for Life Event . 2011. Volunteer Activities/Hobbies/Projects Home Studio Recording: Record, mix, and master music for self and others. Uses Pro Tools and own recording equipment to complete entire recording process. Examples include YouTube video recordings and other personal projects. January 2010 to Present. Original Designing and Building of Instruments: Built Electric Guitar: Painted body, researched and gathered appropriate pieces and hardware. 2009. Electric Bass Guitar refurbished: Repainted guitar, and replaced hardware and electronics on a broken bass guitar. 2010. Top Ten Finalist in “Shoreline’s Got Talent” Annual Connecticut High School's Music Fundraiser: Composed and performed original drum solo – December 2009, January 2010.
