Boston Jazz Vocalist Leah Souza performs popular jazz and blues standards with a signature delivery that is soulful and powerful. She enjoys the freedom and creativity of scatting and improvising throughout many of her songs.Leah Souza has vast performing experience and performs at jazz venues throughout Boston and New England.

Leah is the daughter of well known Boston trumpeter/vocalist Johnny Souza. Leah has performed with many of Boston's top jazz musicians and often times legendary performers. She is a student of Rebecca Paris and credits Rebecca with helping her develop her improvisation and as well as her song delivery.

Although Leah is a working jazz musician and well known in the Boston and New England area she has yet to release her first CD. She will be in the studio in the near future working on her very first CD of standard and original jazz tunes. She recently finished recording as a special guest vocalist on Johnny Souza's upcoming CD “Meet Me in the City” due out this spring 2004. The CD of standard and original songs written by Johnny also features Greg Abate/sax, Ray Santisi/piano, Barry Smith/bass and Gene Roma/drums. The Leah Souza Quartet will continue to make appearances at jazz venues, clubs and outdoor concerts throughout the year.
