Lars Hoff Henly
About Me
Lars Hoff Henly is a last year student at the University of Stavanger, institute for Music and Dance. He studies for a bachelor degree in teaching jazz. Lars main instrument is the saxophone. He started to play this instrument in the school band in his homeplace Lørenskog, a place just outside Oslo. He attended the high school in the nearest city, Lillestrøm, when he turned sixteen and stayed there for three years. Here Lars got mainly classical lessons and training on his instrument. But in his sparetime he played in different local big bands and started his first jazz and blues band, Hoff Henly Quintet. After these years he took his military services in the music platoon in His Majesty the Kings Guard of Norway in Oslo. This year took him on tours all over Norway and military tattoos in Europe. He also joined the big band in the platoon. Then he attended the first year of an art history degree at the University of Oslo. After a year he skipped the art history and started his bachelor degree in Stavanger. He now leads the sextet TILLSAMMANS, plays in the institutes big band and has his own quartet just starting up.....
