Introducing Miss Rita Shelby, a new lady for a new day! Since launching her jazz career five years ago Miss Rita has thrilled audiences at world famous Peabody Hotel, The Friar's Club of Beverly Hills, The Starlight Jazz Serenade at the Television Academy and her home spot The Lucy Florence Coffee House in LA's Leimert Park. LaRita (her given name) has been compared to the jazz greats due to her sultry style and entrancing lyrics laid so smoothly over compositions by Mr. Willie Daniels. Album credits include production by Grammy Award winning Andre' Fischer, Michael Wells and Stafford Floyd with special appearances by Mr. Mike Melvoin, John Kiodini, Bobby Watson, Dorie Pride, Wendy Moten, Gene Van Buren, Sir Tony, Earl Johnson and Aaron Fletcher. Rita's debut album is titled A Date With A Song!
