About Me
Moscow-born trumpeter, vocalist, and bandleader Konstantin Gevondyan is internationally recognized for bringing the vibrant spirit of traditional New Orleans jazz to audiences worldwide. A graduate of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, he founded the Moscow Ragtime Band, leading it to acclaimed performances on national television, at major jazz festivals, and in prestigious concert halls and jazz clubs. Konstantin has collaborated with leading American and European traditional jazz artists, including Meschiya Lake, Antti Sarpila, Tom Fischer, Jack Latimer, Eldar Tsalikov, Lee Floyd, Charlie Fardella, Mara Kaye, Aurora Nealand, Richard Scott, and others, with appearances at the Breda Jazz Festival (Netherlands), SESC Jazz & Blues Festival (Brazil), and Dresden Dixieland Festival (Germany). In 2018, he co-founded Moscow’s award-winning The Bix jazz bar. Since 2023, he has been based in New York as principal trumpeter for Terry Waldo’s Gotham City Band and leader of his own ensemble, Konstantin & The Konstellation, featuring some of NYC’s most in-demand traditional jazz musicians. He also collaborates with renowned New York artists including David Ostwald, Tatiana Eva-Marie, Michael Arenella, and many others.
