Kirk Sanger is a double/electric bassist, composer, improviser.
I'm a musician/composer who plays the double and electric bass who is located in Northampton, MA. My experience allows me to create music with modern jazz ensembles, avant-garde groups, symphony orchestras, modern chamber ensembles, rock groups, and classical chamber ensembles. It has been honor to perform with Peter Cassino, Charlie Kohlhase, John Tchicai, Stan Strickland, among others. I earned my Master of Music degree in Modern American Music at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, Mass. During this time, I was fortunate to study with Charlie Banacos, John Lockwood, Pascale Delache-Feldman, George Garzone, Peter Cassino, Dave Bryant, and Ben Schwendener. I also studied privately with South Indian Carnatic musician/guitarist Prasanna.

This is a fantastic, comprehensive site. The site has been a great tool for research into the members of the jazz community that set the stage for improvisation as well as providing insight into the contemporary musicians that are pushing the limits on improvisation. This page was last updated on 2010-11-20.
