I love jazz because It is unpredictable and it is never the same way every single time. I don’t even think it is possible to play any selection the same way two consecutive times. I really like the fact that it is that way. It definitely keeps my interest, because of it. I was first exposed to jazz by my Uncle Wayne. He used to play Cannonball Adderley for me all the time when I used to visit him in Oakland, CA. We lived in a small town called Bakersfield, CA and it was always great to get out of town and visit with my Uncles (One in Los Angeles, and one in Oakland). The best show I ever attended was the North Sea Jazz Festival. Man, what a great venue. This was when it was still in Den Haag. Everybody you could think of was there (Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Pharoah Sanders, Yusef Lateef, Alice Coltrane, and the list goes on…)
