My Jazz Story

I love jazz because of its free expression. I was first exposed to jazz at age 18 (1963) by a friend who I have sadly lost contact with. The best show I ever attended was probably at the Blue Note in NYC with Stanley Turrentine and Ray Brown circa Nov. 1999. The first jazz record I bought was Dizzy on the French Riviera. My advice to new listeners is to keep an open mind. Jazz has many styles and facets; find out what you like by listening and supporting live musicians.
