Katriona Taylor Short Biography - 2009 Katriona Taylor (daughter of tennis champion Roger Taylor) practised as a lawyer before turning to a career as a singer. Since training in 2003 at London�s prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama in singing and performance, she has become one of the most exciting new talents on the UK jazz scene. Katriona regularly plays to sell-out crowds at top jazz venues such as Pizza Express Soho Jazz Club, Pizza on the Park and The Bulls Head Jazz Club, and has also headlined at many music festivals, for instance The Henley Festival, The London Jazz Festival and The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She has opened for funk supremos The James Taylor Quartet, and works with such outstanding musicians as saxophonist Tony Coe. Katriona has worked internationally, including supporting Grammy Award winning legend George Benson as part of his world tour. Katriona writes and performs her own material, a mixture of jazz and Brazilian grooves, and elegantly re-interprets the jazz classics. Katriona has released three albums to date.
