About Me
June Lopez is an Afro-Latino interdisciplinary artist based in Philadelphia, PA- His work typically centers around memory,
and audio recording mediums. Building up to various melodies, Latin syncopated rhythms have become a part of his
recordings + live performances. These grooves have found their way into multimedia installations, short films, and even
radio podcast programs. His work includes multimedia, live performances, poetry, electronics, and field recordings. All
give an account of the stories that embody abstract narratives for his compositions. After playing piano and clarinet at an
early age, he began experimenting with vinyl, turntables, tapes, and mixing boards. June’s continual focus is exploring
how different cultural/music influences shape sound. He’s deeply invested in Latin/jazz afro roots and in preserving the art
in music to inspire and communicate spiritually. June is a powerhouse DJ whose love and passion stretch out worldwide.
His focus now is telling stories by entering into intimate spaces of the others through sound.
