About Me

Jose'Luis Abreu is a Native New Yorker. At 14 years of age he embarked on a lifelong journey of performing, recording and touring with numerous groups in different genres. At 18 he met Warren I Smith who convinced him to attend SUNY College at old Westbury. There he studied with not only Warren but Andrei Strobert,Richard Harper ,Ken McEntyre ( Makanda). Charli Persip,Joe Chambers Coleridge Taylor Perkinson and others. He soon joined and continues to be a member of the Composers Workshop Ensemble. He's had a long association with Andrew Lamb in several different groups. He's a member of Matt Lavelles 12 Houses Orchestra and can be heard on their latest recording . He fronts his own groups ranging from a Duo to a sextet. Lifelong lover of music in all it's forms.
