About Me
My Jazz Story
I love jazz because...it expresses the
inexpressable, and is a 110% American
phenomenon, in the making.
I was first exposed to jazz...by listening to jazz
radio at age 17, James Moody’s flute mastery in
his rendition of Mancini’s Pink Panther Theme.
I met [musician name]...Bootsy Collins, and he
said, “Keep it funky on the 1.”
The best show I ever attended was...a Nashville
improvisational jam performance by the Reggie
Wooten band, at 12 & Porter.
The first jazz record I bought was...The Inner
Mounting Flame
