John DePaola is a freelance trumpeter in Orlando, Florida. His style of jazz improvisation radiates warmth and is complimented by his ability to create melodic solos. He performs regularly at jazz societies and varied venues in central and southern Florida. John is a strong believer in the value of America's only true art form - Jazz Music.

My Jazz Story

I love jazz because...because of the freedom of musical expression and design in the moment ! I was first exposed to jazz...at a Pittsburgh Night Club where I met and sat with the great Sonny Stitt. The first jazz record I bought was..."Kinda Blue" Miles Davis My advice to new listeners...the only thing that matters is whether or not the music touches you ....your colleagues, friends, family are free to choose as you are. are. Your music is about you.
