I was first exposed to jazz by hearing it in movies from the fifties. 'Lounge jazz' I believe it was called and I wasn't consciously aware that it WAS actually a form of music until I got older and recognized it as a specific style of music. It was the music of The Rat Pack, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Ella Fitzgerald records playing in our home growing up. Old school was my favorite for a long, long time. I still enjoy vocals in jazz the best, but have expanded my interest to great instrumental work as well. I now help jazz musicians with their branding, marketing, promotions & social media needs in the greater SF Bay Area in California. http://behindthecurtainproductions.blogspot.com
