I love jazz because it moves my soul. I was first exposed to jazz...my mother listened to Goodman, Ellington and other postwar popular artists. My older brothers also introduced my to blues and jazz when I was about 12. I met [musician name]...McCoy Tyner, Ravi Coltrane, Mathew Garrison, George Benson, Reggie Workman The best show I ever attended was...Jimmy Garrison and Elvin Jones in a small bar in Albany. The first jazz record I bought was... My advice to new listeners..to ask questions and listen to a wide variety of music. Have an open mind.. Or whatever else you have in mind.
