About Me
My Jazz Story
I think I started singing jazz when I was around 10. I was always making up some tune around the house. There was the rat pack playing in the background, and I think I was around that age when I first heard Billy Holiday too. I started to sing the American song book at around 10, began opera training at 15, and started having a concert career at around 25, after graduating college. While living in Miami, I met a group of young Jazz Musicians from the University of Miami and was soon attending the Monday night Jazz night at Churchhills, getting up on stage, singing classics and improvising. I worked with pianist Marcus Gottschich of Miami, and pianist Yoichi Uzeki of New York.
