My Jazz Story
I love jazz because the form allows the performer to express all aspects of their personality, influences, and technique.
I was first exposed to jazz in junior high school jazz band.
The best show I ever attended was a Roy Hargrove concert.
The first jazz record I bought was when my father came home from a business trip and had Freddie Hubbard and Maynard Ferguson albums.
My advice to new listeners: sample all eras and types of jazz to find which ones speak to you.
