About Me

Jimmi Roger Pedersen is a professional freelance double bass player, composer and educator

JRP was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, 1965 and in 1986 he studied double bass with legendary Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen (NHØP) at Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen. Jimmi was nominated as best solo instrumentalist in The 2009 JPF Music Awards in Nashville, TN USA. Received multiple national grants over the years. Jimmi toured with jazz pianist Horace Parlan and backed artists such as Benny Bailey, Al Grey and Lee Konitz. He has 100+ records to his credit including two solo bass albums. Composed 100+ pieces including music for larger orchestras. Recently released a new learning system for double bass 'theMELTconcept'. Jimmi was artistic director of the European bass congress BASS2012 COPENHAGEN, former president of BASSEUROPE and chairman of Danish Bass Society. Jimmi lives near Copenhagen.
