About Me
My Jazz Story
I began piano age 11 by taking piano lessons (15 minutes a week) with my school
music teacher. I first started playing jazz when I bought a jazz book in a local music
store with money I had saved up. The first song I learned was Is You Is or Is You Ain't
(ma Baby). The major breakthrough for me was meeting Julian Joseph and him inviting
me to play at his academy. A year later I played at The Shrine in Harlem.
