Jeff listens to as much recorded music as he can.
I learned what I could about jazz before I heard much of it from reading the Rolling Stone Record Guide and anything else I could get my hands on. I remember buying a cassette of A Love Supreme in a mall and taking it home and hearing my life change. I remember hearing Rahsaan Roland Kirk shout about the Inflated Tear on the radio station from Temple University in Philadelphia. And I saw the audience in Carnegie Hall leap out of their seats as one in response to Sonny Rollins. Sonny doesn't play Carnegie Hall too often, the mall doesn't sell too much music, and Temple University radio might not play as much jazz, but the music carries on.
