Jason Klobnak
About Me
Mr. Klobnak is a versatile trumpet player that has been performing as an active musician,
author, clinician, composer and educator. His bands, J's Ruckus and The Jason Klobnak Quartet/Quintet (JKQ) is made
up of high- caliber musicians known for their professionalism and versatility. Denver's blend of post-bop, indie jazz,
neo
r&b, and hip-hop. Together they
have recorded a 5 full- length albums (Mountain, Move 2013; New Chapter 2015; Friends & Family 2018; Sermons
2019;
Suck Less 2020; Quarantined Sessions 2020).
Besides the JKQ, Mr. Klobnak has played and recorded for numerous groups throughout
Denver, CO and Des Moines, IA ranging from jazz, indie-rock/pop and gospel. He has toured
across Europe including 4 performances at the 2001 North Sea Jazz Festival. He has also
written two improvisation- based books called Targeting: Improvisation With Purpose and
Breaking the Monotony. Mr. Klobnak holds a bachelor degree from Drake University (Des
Moines, IA) and a Master’s degree from the University of Denver, Lamont School of Music
(Denver, CO)
