My Jazz Story

I love jazz because...It's an ever evolving art form which is both spontaneous and risky. Both of these things are exciting. I was first exposed to jazz...In 1977 I met [musician name]...Joe Henderson in Adelaide when I supported him with my first quintet. One of the best experiences of my life. The best show I ever attended was...Weather Report in 1981, Adelaide South Australia The first jazz record I bought was...Heavy Weather by Weather Report. My advice to new listeners...Follow your heart and take lots of risks Or whatever else you have in mind.

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
