Jarez is a world-renowned saxophonist, known for his soulful sound and dynamic performances. With
over two decades of experience in the music industry, Jarez has become one of the most sought-after
musicians in the world, performing with some of the biggest names in the business.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jarez discovered his passion for music at a young age. He began
playing the saxophone at the age of 10 and quickly fell in love with the instrument. Later, Jarez began
performing with a variety of local artists. It was during this time that he met Grammy Award Winner
rapper Coolio, with whom he would go on to perform for the next 25 years around the world.
Jarez and Coolio's partnership began in 1998, at a time when hip-hop was rapidly gaining popularity.
They quickly found that their unique blend of rap and jazz was a hit with audiences, and they began
performing together regularly at some of the biggest venues in the world and eventually became
Coolio’s official music manager.
Jarez last CD was full of all-star guests and ultra funky goodness. Featured artists include Julian
Vaughn, Vandell Andrew, Willie Bradley, Ragan Whiteside and Gerald Albright. J Funk City has made
a sizzling impact of the music citizens of the world. With the release of the CD, Jarez became the first
indie saxophonist to have number 1’s on all SmoothJazz.com charts at one time with this release.
Additionally, the J Funk City mayor made #1 on the Groove Jazz Music Charts and Radio Wave Monitor
Charts for the single “24 Hours” (featuring Julian Vaughn), as well as the Top 10 on the Smooth Jazz
Network Charts and the Smooth Jazz Billboard charts for the same single.
Jarez is regarded as one of the most talented and versatile saxophonists in the world. His music
continues to inspire and delight audiences around the globe, and he shows no signs of slowing down
anytime soon.
