About Me

I am a top call saxophonist in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, presently developing a national presence following the release of my debut CD, She's Hip. I play all saxophones, and specialize in mainstream and hard bop jazz (my heart is firmly in the middle of the last century!). I also play flute and clarinet and maintain a busy freelance performance schedule. I am active as an educator and adjudicator. A favorite career highlight was sharing the concert stage in a quintet setting with a musical hero of mine, jazz great Clark Terry, and I was honoured to open for comedian Bob Newhart at his last Winnipeg appearance with my 11-piece jazz orchestra. My fans have voted me TOP SAX for three years running and I appear frequently as a guest artist with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. My present project is called JAZZ on TAP and will premiere in June 2007 at the JazzWinnipeg Festival.

My Jazz Story

I love jazz because...it brings me joy! I was first exposed to jazz...in a family band when I was in grade 10. I met [musician name]...Clark Terry!! The best show I ever attended was... The first jazz record I bought was... My advice to new listeners...remember there are lots of "flavours" of jazz to pick from! If you don't like one, try another! Or whatever else you have in mind.
