Jaehyun Cho
About Me
Jaehyun Cho was born and grew up in Seoul, South Korea. He began playing electric bass when he
was at the age of 17. From 2008 to 2010, He served in the Korean Air Force band as a bassist and
attended international military band festival in Rotterdam, Netherlands as a member of Korean
national military band in 2009.
Although Jaehyun is a native of Seoul, South Korea, his career began when he moved to Los Angeles
in 2012 and attended California State University, Northridge where he studied and performed with
Gary Pratt, Dave Robaire. Gary Fukushima and Mike Mull among many others. In 2018, he moved to
New York City, and he attended the masters program at NYU where he studied with Drew Gress,
Billy Drummond, Ari Hoenig, Alan Ferber, Mike Rodriguez and Billy Drews. In 2019, he recorded his
debut album, “Pursue”, with Alex Sipiagin, Rich Perry, Nery Kim and Mark Ferber, and it was released
on April 19th, 2021.
Jaehyun currently decided to keep pursuing his academic goal and has been admitted to the Doctor
of Musical Arts at the Frost School of Music, University of Miami.
