Performing on trumpet, flugelhorn and keyboards Jackson is a composer and multi-instrumentalist from the Pacific Northwest. His debut album titled “The Firefly” contains critically acclaimed original compositions with a hit in the 2012 top 40 jazz radio charts. Scott O'brien says “Fourplay meets Chris Botti”.
My Jazz Story
I love jazz because spontaneous creation is music at it's finest.
I was first exposed to jazz at an early age living with my family of musicians.
I met Maynard Ferguson in 1972
The best show I ever attended was Steele Dan at the Columbia River Gorge Amphitheater.
The first jazz record I bought was Breaker Brothers
My advice to new listeners is to always go with your gut feelings.
I try to never forget a few simple things, #1 The soul listening is equally important as the soul
creating and never be too busy to pay attention.
