Colombian-born Ivette Franco combines her latino roots and jazz knowledge to create music that is natural, fresh and soulful. Ivette also appreciates the artistry of jazz phrasing and scatting. These elements are an integrated highlight in all her performances. Ivette began her Jazz studies with Bill Russo and Bobby Wilson (Chicago Jazz Ensemble) and has studied privately with well-known Jazz vocalists Jackie Allen and Janice Borla. She also received a fellowship to study at the Janice Borla Jazz Vocal Camp. She performed live at North Central’s esteemed concert hall, and worked with noted jazz vocalist Jay Clayton and top musicians Franco Caruso and the Dan Haerle Trio. Ivette will release of her first solo CD in 2012. The CD features noted musicians Andy Brown (guitar), Joe Policastro (bass) and Mikel Avery (drums). Ivette was recently featured at Fitzgerald's “Singer Spotlight” and consistently looks for new venues and private events to showcase her talent. Ivette also sings as a soloist for her church, performing everything from Gospel to Classical. In 2007, she received “The Big Voice” award for her work in the ministry.
