Holly Burke

I met Keith Jarrett at the 5 Spot in New York as a deeply respectful eighteen year old student of Jazz. He brushed me off (good old Keith.) I was studying Jazz flute and Classical music in the city and was steeped in all the amazing and inspirational jazz in New York at that time. Airto and Flora Purim, Stanley Clarke, Gato Barbieri, John Mclaughlin, Chick Correa and on and on...that experience alerted me to the fact that I wanted to be taken seriously. So I dug in. I love jazz because of the spirit of freedom and exploration it embodies.
