About Me

Given the power of information (first predicted to me by George Orwell in the novel, “1984”), writing is especially risky these days. It's a good thing I enjoy it so much. I began writing as a broadcast journalist on radio: writing, producing and delivering news on the hour. The high point there had to be speaking with Wayne Gtretzky privately (for about 28 seconds) in the Edmonton Oilers dressing room in 1986. It was post-game and I caught him coming out of the shower (wearing a towel). What a scoop -- short as it was. I am inspired to find truth in the stories I discover. In this sense, I am a lot like a jazz musician trying to find the right note by improvisation. Back to work! Thanks for stopping by.
