Giorgi Mikadze (piano)

He was born in Tbilisi in 1989. At the age of 6 he entered the “10-grade school for the talented” named after Zakharia Phaliashvili, where he took classes of classical music delivered by Nodar Nakaidze. He was singing in the boys’ choir established at the Tbilisi State Musical Center of Jansugh Kakhidze – lead singer.

At the same time he was attending composition classes delivered by composer Nunu Dughashvili. Giorgi is the prize-winner of many international competitions (2002 – II national contest of Nodar Gabunia – II award and the title of prize-winner; 2005 – Kiev – VI international Horowitz contest of pianists – special prize and diploma; 2005 – II international contest of young pianists, Tbilisi – II award and the title of prize-winner); participates in the following festivals: “evenings of modern music” (2008), “ART- GENI”, The International Festival-Institute at Round Top, Texas, US (2009); has received the scholarships of the President of Georgia (2003), Eter Andjapharidze (2007), Giya Khancheli (2009). He cooperates with the State Theater of Shota Rustaveli (music for the performance “Absent”, director Levan Khvichia). Together with classical music he takes interest in jazz and systematically holds concertos for classical as well as jazz music. He is the IV grade student of bachelorship at Tbilisi State Conservatoire of V. Sarajishvili (Professor Revaz Tavadze’s class);

He is a student of Berklee Collage of Music, Boston.
