My Jazz Story
I became exposed to jazz by my older brother who loved swing, Dixieland, and bop! That was since the late 1940's. I met many jazz musicians through the years in Philly at the Uptown Theater where many shows were presented in the early 1960's. The best jazz show I attended was at the Uptown in my hometown....Art Blakely & the Jazz Messengers, Cannonball Adderley, Oscar Brown Jr. to name a few of the six artist. Open up to the freedom offered by America's Art Form...Jazz... creative energy often take one on a spectacular joyous journey! I was first exposed to jazz... I met [musician name]... The best show I ever attended was... The first jazz record I bought was... My advice to new listeners... Or whatever else you have in mind.
