Bay area native Frank Martin is a pianist/keyboard player that continues a diverse career
as a performer as well as an educator. For the past 17 years he has been a member of
Stings Rainforest Band performing annually at Carnegie Hall along with James Taylor,
Elton John, Stevie Wonder and many others. Current staff educator positions include the
Jazz Department of the University of California at Berkeley, and the California Jazz
Conservatory.
For many years he has been Musical Director for recording artists such as Narada
Michael Walden, Patti Austin, and Angela Bofill. As a Producer he as worked with artists
that include Lisa Fisher, Al Jarreau, Mimi Fox, Angela Bofill, Joey DeFrancisco, Patrice
Rushin, Karen Blixt, Ellen Honert, Mary Jenson, and Nicholas Bearde. Artist Arranger
credits included the Turtle Island String Quartet, Dianna Ross, Steve Winwood, Chris
Issak, and Al Green.
For 6 years he served as a Governor for the San Francisco Chapter of the National
Academy of Recording Artists (NARAS).
