Ernesto Aurignac
About Me
Ernesto Aurignac is today one of the leading jazz saxophonists panorama in Spain.
Born in Malaga where license classical saxophone at an early age at the Conservatory of
Malaga. Then he moved to Barcelona where he studied jazz, modern harmony and
improvisation on his own. He has acted throughout the whole Spanish geography always
reaping critical and commercial successes. He has also performed in New York, Finland,
Poland, Ecuador, France, Chile, Australia, Russia, Germany, Portugal, England, Canada and
Mexico.
Seminars teaches at National and International Jazz Saxophone professor, introduction to
jazz combos and modern harmony. He has shared cast of teachers with musicians like
George Garzone, Seamus Blake, Dave Kikoski, Peter Bernstein, Bob Gullotti, John Lockwood
and Steve Grossman.
He has worked in a variety of formations with musicians like Chano Dominguez, Perico
Sambeat, Carles Benavent, Gilad Hekselman, Eric Alexander, Joachim Kühn, Albert Bover,
Javier Colina, Marc Miralta, Alain Perez, Albert Sanz, Anders Christensen, Alexi Tuomarila,
Mike Mossman, Massa Kamaguchi, Deejay Foster, Andre Sumelius, David Mengual, Ramón
Prats, Bob Sands, Bobby Martinez, Jaume Llombart, Jesús Santandreu, Pablo Martin, among
others, and with figures of flamenco as Gerardo Nuñez, Antonio King, the Rubio de Pruna,
the Piranha, Jesus Mendez, Sandra Carrasco, Brush, the Tremendita, the Genara and Israel
Fernández.
Currently living in Málaga, part of the cast of musicians “Flamenco Hoy” filmmaker Carlos
Saura under the musical direction of Chano Dominguez, founder and vice-president of the
Association of Malaga Jazz and professor of saxophone, harmony and combos Arts Center
and Modern Music ‘Master Puyana’ (CAMM).
