It was rock and fusion jazz that attracted me to seeking out a better understanding of the genre. Case in point was an early Frank Zappa concert in Toronto that featured an opening act I was DYING to see even more: John McLaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra. I've been a hard core explorer ever since....
