My Jazz Story

I love jazz because it's a positive art form. I was first exposed to jazz at 14 when I found the music of Dave Brubeck in my parents record collection. In 1990, I met Dave Brubeck backstage at the Keswick Theater (near Philadelphia) which then led to a friendship for nearly 20 years. The best show I ever attended was Dave Brubeck in Princeton 1999. The first jazz record I bought was Time Out, can you see a theme here? But then I also listened to many other jazz musicians like Bill Evans, Chick Corea, Oscar Peterson, Art Tatum and many more. My advice to new listeners: seek jazz that is lyrical and energetic and that you can connect with. Give the music a chance, it can change your life.
