About Me
Elysia has performed as a feelance musician in Portland, OR and more recently in Los Angeles, CA. In Portland she played with Alan Jones, The Darren Kleintet, Orjazzum, Philly's Phunkestra, and Don Juan Peligroso. In LA, Elysia has has been playing with her new quartet Brundlefly. Elysia has also had the honor of performing with Jimmy Heath, Steve Turre, James Moody, Slide Hampton, Alphonso Johnson, and Darek Oles. She has performed at The San Jose Jazz Festival, The Oregon Brewers Festival, The Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland, Jimmy Maks jazz club in Portland, The Baked Potato in Studio City, and The Blue Whale in LA.
My Jazz Story
I was given a cassette tape of Oliver Nelson's Stolen Moments when I was
10. I had never heard anything so exciting before and knew immediately
that I had to get a saxophone.
