Bride has been a jazz zealot since gradeschool, and served as student chairman of the Villanova Intercollegiate Jazz Festival in the mid-1960s
About Me
Edward Bride is president and founder of Berkshires Jazz, Inc., whose mission is to present jazz performances,
encourage jazz education, and promote the local jazz scene in Berkshire County, Massachusetts.
Berkshires Jazz, Inc. was formed in 2009 by the committee who planned and organized the Pittsfield CityJazz
Festival, an annual event that started in 2005.
In addition to his work as president of Berkshires Jazz, Inc., Edward Bride is past-president of the New England
Jazz Alliance, which operates the New England Jazz Hall of Fame.
He also served as secretary and vice president of the New England Jazz Ensemble, a 16-piece big band based in
central Connecticut. The non-profit band is chartered to perform new compositions written by its staff, which
largely comprises jazz educators at the high school and college level.
