A true sisterhood of Jazz Singers, DivaNation is a diverse and developing community of Philadelphia's female jazz singers who evoke the spirit of legendary Jazz singers like Ethel Waters, Billy Holiday, Anita O'Day, Sarah Vaughan, Nina Simone & Peggy Lee. Birthed through the Philadelphia Jazz Project, and currently supported by the Philadelphia Culture Trust and The Community Education & Action Project, INC, DivaNation is embarking on its fifth year of building community, developing artistry, supporting new talent and new audiences for Philadelphia jazz-based singers. Our programming includes Performance Events, Educational Workshops, New Artist Mentorship, & Collaborative Arts Partnerships. Connected to jazz of the past and looking forward to the future, we strive towards growth, musical excellence, and success as individual performers and as a collective.
