About Me

I began my musical career at the age of 16, attended the Berklee School of Music in Boston and studied privately with Ed Shaughnessy. I have performed with numerous gifted musicians and celebrities in every musical genre. Rock, pop, disco, country, ethnic and jazz and big band. I have lead a 15 piece big band since 1982 which was chosen as one of the best bands in the country by DOWN BEAT Magazine. I teach privately and in clinics and am the author of published drum articles and videos, SECRETS OF THE WORLDS GREATEST DRUMMER, which are in-depth analysis of the late Buddy Rich. I am the founder and director of The International Big Band Jazz Cafe Society, a 501 C3 non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of an American Art Form.
