My Jazz Story

Jazz, with its rich nuances and infinite possibilities, has always been my greatest love, offering me the freedom to express myself authentically and create unique sonic worlds. I love to get lost in improvisation, to experiment with unexpected harmonies and rhythms, to create musical stories, and to share intense emotions with my listeners.

My House Concert Story

I have explored a vast sonic palette, experimenting with various instrumental combinations. From the intimacy of trios to the rich sounds of quartets and quintets, enriched with brass, vibraphone or guitar, each collaboration was an exciting new musical adventure. The repertoire includes original compositions that reflect a personal approach to jazz, reinterpretations of jazz standards, and explorations in the fascinating field of ethno-jazz. By performing at national and international festivals, we have received favorable reviews from both audiences and critics for the originality of our compositions, as well as for our personal interpretation of standards and ethno-jazz arrangements. As a member of UCMR-ADA (the Romanian Composers and Musicians Union - Association for Copyright), I strive to enrich the Romanian musical landscape through original compositions and by promoting jazz in all its forms. My goal for the near future is to record a debut album titled 'Urban Musings'. My objective for the next period is to record my first album entitled "URBAN MUSINGS". This project represents for me a sound journey through various landscapes, from the ancient legends of Maramureș county (Romania) to contemporary urban meditations. One of the compositions included in this album, titled "LIGHTS IN THE DESERT," promises a journey into the search for the desert's mysterious lights. Presented at the Deva Jazz Festival in 2023, it won the composition competition at the IAȘI JAZZ FESTIVAL & COMPETITION "Richard Oschanitzky 85" in 2024. Another piece that will be included in this album has Romanian ethno-jazz influences and is titled “TAGURA”. In fact, its real name, with Romanian diacritics, is “ŢÂGURA” and represents the name of a demon from old Maramureș legends who battles the moon. It was first presented at the JAZZ IN THE PARK COMPETITION 2024, where it was awarded the Special Jury Prize (out of a total of over 246 competing entries). URBAN MUSINGS" is the title track of the album, a reflection on sophisticated urban life, its rhythms, and the daily hustle. It was selected as a finalist for the "Berklee Aspire" scholarship at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in 2023." "FORGIVE ME" is a ballad that explores themes of hope, featuring a unique arrangement. It was presented at the Jazz Kamo Festival, receiving praise from both the audience and critics. It is a musical introspection, a journey into the depths of emotions, where every note pulsates with sincerity. "URBAN MUSINGS" will be an album that blends tradition with modernity, exploring universal themes through a personal lens. Each song is a story, an emotion, an invitation to introspection. I hope this album will bring joy, energy, and inspire the discovery of new sonic worlds.
