My Jazz Story

I love jazz because of its unpredictability I was first exposed to jazz ,when i saw Roland Kirk at Ronnie Scotts in 1966. I was 15.... I met [musician name Illinois Jacquet The best show I ever attended was the Art Blakey residencies at Ronnie Scots The first jazz record I bought was cant remember ,but maybe Expansions Lonnie Liston Smith My advice to new listeners, if you find an artist you like, investigate the musicians who influenced them Or whatever else you have in mind.

My House Concert Story

Hosted an Amnesty International Benefit show in New York, with Randy Weston , Ruth Brown, Max Roach, Illinois Jacquet and others at theatre in Harlem, name eludes me right now. Best experience was having Jazz club in Euston if only for 6 months in mid 80s called THE STORM CLUB. Where artists like Jean Toussaint, Jason Rebello, Steve Williamson, Gary Crosby, Winston Clifford appeared amongst others
