David Chamberlain
Dave has been playing trombone, flute, and several other low brass instruments on the New York Latin, jazz, and classical scenes for forty plus years.
About Me
Raised in Buffalo, Dave has been living in the New York city area since 1966. He has recorded seven CDs as a leader and performed or recorded with Tito Puente, Jaki Byard, the Mambo Legends Orchestra, Johnny Mathis, Mike Longo, Cruz Control, and many others. He is leader of the Band of Bones, the Hora Decima Brass Ensemble, and Direct Latin Influence. Dave was the bandleader at the prestigious Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Center (with DLI) for six years. In addition to trombone, Dave plays flute, bass trombone, euphonium, tuba, and bass trumpet.
My Jazz Story
The best show I ever attended was John Coltrane classic quartet at the old Birdland (1964?) He played opposite Mose Allison!The first jazz albums I got were Basie at Birdland, Mingus Ah Um, and J.J. Incorporated. Got them at about age 14-15.
