My Jazz Story
I love jazz because...It's so broad and artistic and I am a jazz drummer by training
I was first exposed to jazz...My father's classic jazz records. Count Basie, Ella, the Duke
I met [musician name]...Count Basie in 1979.
The best show I ever attended was...Tony Williams at Rockefeller's in Houston. I sat right behind him and met him after the show in his dressing room.
The first jazz record I bought was...Louie Bellson, Matterhorn
My advice to new listeners...Listen to records several times before passing judgement.
Or whatever else you have in mind.
My House Concert Story
The closest was a house concert with Fingerstyle Guitarist Laurence Juber for my 50th birthday. A truly special night with a very special artist.
