Dave Kluge
Dave Kluge is a bassist and composer based in Rochester, NY.
About Me
Dave Kluge is a multifaceted bassist, composer, and educator based in Rochester, N.Y. As an active freelance bassist,
he performs with several groups in the Rochester area and enjoys collaborating with musician friends in a diverse
range of projects. As a composer, he has been commissioned by The Penfield Music Commission Project and has
written for All-County orchestras as well as professional and student jazz ensemble, quartet, orchestra and choir. His
composition View From The Bridge was premiered at the 2013 Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival by the
Eastman Community Music School’s Educators Big Band.
Dave holds a BM in Music Education with a concentration in Jazz Studies from SUNY Fredonia and a MS in Music
Education from Nazareth College. From 2007-2013 he taught instrumental music in the West Irondequoit Central
School District. Since 2013, he has taught in the Rush-Henrietta Central School District as the senior high school
Orchestra Director. Dave and his wife Holly live in the Rochester area with their two sons where they enjoy writing
music together in a duo called Fleeting Frame.
